Principal Planning and Partnerships Officers


 A Statewide Planning and Partnerships Officer is located in the Community Partnerships Branch of the Department of Child Safety and another is located in PeakCare Queensland on behalf of the non-government members of the Taskforce.
The function of the two Principal Planning and Partnerships Offices is to:

  • provide executive support for the Child Protection Statewide Partnership Taskforce;

    •
  • act as a resource for and provide support to Zonal Planning and Partnerships Officers;

    •
  • coordinate reporting to the Child Protection Statewide Partnership Taskforce on outcomes being achieved through zonal planning arrangements; and

    •
  • facilitate consultation/feedback with staff from government departments and peak/representative groups.

Zonal Planning and Partnerships Officers (ZPPOs)


 A central element in the establishment of the Planning and Partnerships Networks was the appointment of Planning and Partnerships Officers across the Department of Child Safety’s seven zones. These positions were created to facilitate the child safety planning processes in partnership with stakeholders from other non-government and government agencies with an interest in child safety.

The role of these ZPPOs is to:

  • build, support and resource zonal planning and partnerships network arrangements operating within each zone;

    •
  • ensure effective communication between zones and the Child Protection Statewide Partnership Taskforce;

    •
  • facilitate the zonal planning process and contribute to a zonal plan; and

    •
  • report quarterly on progress of zonal planning and partnerships processes.

A new look and direction after the completion of the post reform phase heralds some value driven plans for DChS.
