TrainingSmart…for Child Protection


 TrainingSmart…for Child Protection is a new PeakCare Qld initiative that will provide a process for the delivery of targeted and specialist training to the Child protection sector throughout Queensland.

This is a complete training package and includes a mix of on line learning modules that are targeted at a basic level, through to highly specialised training and information in a range of areas.
TrainingSmart…for Child Protection incorporates state and national partnerships with recognised leaders in Child Protection practice and service delivery.
TrainingSmart…for Child Protection, is delivered through a multi level process ranging from:


Level 1- Online Information Modules


 Level 1 presents a range of downloadable information and training booklets for staff who are new to the field, or who are looking for a little more input on particular issues. The booklets are designed to quickly and easily provide staff with the relevant information they may need on a particular topic. Topics are being added to all the time.

Level 2 - Face to face introductory training


 Level 2 is Face to face training designed for staff who are new to the sector and who may not have commenced a qualification as yet. The training offered ion the level is run over 4 – 5 hours, on a day and provides staff with the basics in terms of doing their day to day work.

Residential Care Induction Training


 This level includes an induction training session for residential care workers who are new to the sector. Over the 5 hours of training participants will cover topics such as:

  • The History if Residential care in Queensland

  • Policy, procedures and systems

    •
  • Basic group work practice and skills development

Level 3 - Skills Development Modules


 Level 3 is additional face to face training that includes a range of topics that are more focussed on skills development and enhancement. This training contains modules that cover in more detail topics including:

Zonal TrainingSmart Symposium


 PeakCare can provide the full training package customised to suit your needs and delivered in your zone over the course of a one week. It includes all the training modules as well as scope for breakfast and lunchtime forums focussing on a range of topics including management and innovative practice. The bonus is that the Zonal TrainingSmart Symposium facilitates a partnership process throughout the planning and delivery of the package, as well as providing up to date and relevant training and information to the whole of the Zone.
